Graduated as a composer from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2006, Casper Hernández Cordes centers his artistic research on the interactions between human beings and their surroundings.
Under the title “Building Sound Collectives,” he channels this research into participatory formats, workshops, and site-specific sound art. Following his degree in Educational Anthropology in 2018, Cordes relocated from Copenhagen to the countryside in Sorø.
Immersed in local ecosystems and informed by philosophy, anthropology, and poetry, his work bridges deep listening, acoustic ecology, and public engagement. He uses the piano, hardware hacking, and electroacoustic instrumentation to improvise and compose, treating the musical score as a mathematical grid to process movements, energies, and interactions between human and non-human actors.
